Location: 603 Keith Drive, near the intersection of Watson Drive and Keith Drive in Allen.

What makes it noteworthy: Allenwood Park is the perfect combination of fun and learning. The brightly colored playground has many built-in signs to teach kids letters, numbers, music and mazes — all on the playset for ages 2–5. On the set best suited for ages 5–12, there are two regular swings and two baby swings too.

Extras: Although there is only one slide on the older kids’ playset, there are other activities such as a balance game, a wobbly bridge and steering wheel-shaped monkey bars. The toddler playset features a steering wheel, a climbing bridge and two slides. A walking loop trail and covered gazebo allow parents to get up and move or just relax while the kids play.

Safety: This playground received an A* on the Playground Safety Report Card thanks to cleanliness and no rust, broken parts or graffiti.
