Location: 7451 Starnes Road in North Richland Hills. You can spot the playground from the street.

What makes it noteworthy: Easily one of the best playgrounds in Dallas-Fort Worth, Adventure World Playground lives up to its name. This park offers far more than the usual swings and slides. Kids will feel as if they are at their own clubhouse in the woods. Tree log slides, mushrooms tables, tree stump stairs, a climbing boulder and a hiding raccoon peeking out at you, are just the beginning. With so much to climb, crawl and slide on, kids won’t want to leave.

Extras: Adventure World Playground is located in Cross Timbers Park, which offers baseball fields, a walking trail and plenty of picnic spots.

Safety: Adventure World Playground scored a 22 out of 24 on the Safety Report Card, giving it an overall grade of an A. The playground for ages 2-5 is just far enough from the big playground to make it difficult for moms that have kids on different play structures. Recently renovated in 2014, the equipment is in great condition but keep an eye on little ones that will no doubt be drawn to the big play structure.

Plus
+ Plenty of shade.
+ Restrooms
+ Rows of swings.

Minus
- Equipment is spread out.

Overall grade: 5/5 stars
