Right down the road from world-class shopping, restaurants and more, rests a perfect park for rambunctious kids: Coffee Park, 3400 Northwest Highway in University Park. The park’s playscape earned an A on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card.*

This park is surprisingly quiet when you consider that it sits adjacent to a busy roadway; it’s enclosed by sound-barrier walls that drown out the noise (and protect wandering kids from traffic). At the playground, kids of all ages can blow off steam while climbing rock walls, sliding down slides, swinging, running on the long bridge deck and more. Mom can keep an eye on older kids on the taller playscape, while younger siblings play on a connected structure that’s built especially for active tots.

The best amenity of the bustling playground—especially during hot Texas summers—is the playground’s ample shade. In some areas, like the slide structure, kids can leave your sight, so close supervision is recommended.

This review was distributed to the University Park’s Parks and Recreation department for further review and/or action.
