Portraits of Courage – A Commander in Chief's Tribute to America's Warriors grew out of President Bush’s own outreach and the ongoing work of the George W. Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative.

Portraits of Courage brings together 66 full-color portraits and a four-panel mural painted by President Bush of members of the United States military who have served our nation with honor since 9/11 — and whom he has come to know personally.

Each painting is accompanied by the inspiring story of the veteran depicted, written by the President.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.

This event or venue can accommodate children with special needs.

Handicap parking spaces are located in the parking lot immediately across from the entrance to the library and museum, on SMU Boulevard.

Wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Ask a docent for assistance and guidelines. Motorized scooters are allowed.

Video presentations are closed-captioned for the hearing impaired. Only animals defined by the ADA as service animals are allowed into the museum.
