Take a seat in Dupree Theater to watch Take the Bus, an insightful play about Claudette Colvin, the teenager who refused to give up her seat on a segregated Montgomery bus nearly nine months before the famous Rosa Parks ride. It was Claudette’s case, along with three others, that was heard by the Supreme Court and directly caused the end of bus segregation in the U.S.

And see the unveiling of the 2017 USPS Heritage Stamp by Irving Postmaster Rodney Malone. Presented by the Irving Black Arts Council.
