The Connemara Meadow Preserve is operated by a large private land trust, a group that advocates for the conservation of forest and prairie areas across Texas. The Connemara Conservancy established The Meadow as a focal point of its efforts; this property, located at Alma and Bethany drives in Allen, boasts wetlands, grasslands and much more. The land is only open to education groups and events on specific dates (it remains closed so that the land can fully restore to its original properties).
Kids will get a thrill from running through the flat, sprawling trails or peeking in on the insects, birds and other wildlife that call the Meadow their home—during their exploration, children can learn important lessons about how to appreciate and care for the land. Free. Note: No pets or bikes are permitted in the park.
